On November 30, 2013, Filipino youth throughout the world honor and celebrate the birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, a hero who led the Philippine revolution against Spanish colonial rule by the end of the 19th century.
Local chapter Anakbayan Toronto invites you to celebrate with us the 150th birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio with an afternoon filled with cultural performances. Through music, presentations, and exhibit we will trace back the stories of our struggles and victories as part of the collective spirit of the Filipino people. We will also highlight our campaigns over the past year since we founded this chapter.
We will have activities to show our response to our uprooting from our communities and to shake our complacency. We are proud to share a wonderful expression of our national pride–an affirmation of our revolutionary heritage to attain a society of just, comprehensive, and lasting peace.
